Yoga is not – a philosophy, an exercise, a religion…Yoga is simply a way to experience the Now.
Atha Yoganusasanam
Here, now, The teaching of yoga.
The first yoga sutra; Atha Yoganusasanam presents an invitation to practice yoga always and everywhere.
The conditions right now are the best conditions we can have. No excuses, no procrastination. It is not a matter of waiting for the “right” time to practice or the right environment. Yoga does not require you to sit in meditation, attend a class, be physically flexible; it simply presents a challenge to be in this moment. The time is Now!
Here in western culture the word “Yoga” is perceived as only “asana”. A deep illusion this is.
“Asana” is an aspect of Yoga. It is to be understood as a cleansing of the body and activating of its cells to increase ability, flexibility, mobility etc.
In life, we always have hopes into the future as the present seems unsatisfactory. The practice of yoga provides a shift to satisfaction in the present.
A teaching of my father; Knowledge is there all you have to do is arrive.
All that we ever know, all that we ever need to know – is already there; we just haven’t arrived to it. That’s all. That’s why we practice yoga. So that we can arrive.
Yoga is a methodology to reveal the truth.
Yoga is a science to be in the here and now.
Yoga means now – not preparing to move into the future.
Yoga means you are ready now – not to hope, not to jump ahead of your being.
Yoga means to encounter the reality as it is.
Enter the path of yoga when you are totally frustrated with your mind as it is. Unconditionally drop your way of being, the way you have existed up til now, bring your mind here and now. Allow yourself to become in tune with the present; face to face with reality. Be seated in the here and now. Welcome yourself to be fully present and enjoy the now.
Let’s embrace together the science of yoga to achieve our highest potential. Embrace Life. Practice Yoga.
